How to Commission Original Artwork?
The process is simple: Think carefully about what you want in your painting and note down any special features you wish shown or emphasized.
Draw a sketch or diagram if you can- it tends to save a lot of words. Get together photographic or other supporting references and send them to me with the sketch.
I will produce a simple outline sketch of your requirements to agree a composition and provide a fixed quote, with no obligation. Further detailed sketches will be produced if required to finalise details prior to commencement of a painting.
At appropriate points I will email you digital snapshots of the painting and invite your thoughts and comments. When the work is near completion I will send digital images of the painting for your final approval.
Oil paintings can take a long time to produce depending on the size and complexity so please bear this in mind if the painting is required for a specific date and allow sufficient time when ordering.
Lead in times can vary depending on my current workload. Generally allow a minimum of 3 months from confirmation of order for an oil painting; acrylic paintings can be produced quicker.
Prices vary depending on the overall size, subject and complexity of the picture. Please contact me.
All original artworks are supplied unframed, however framing can be provided on request.
